Going for a goal in the Volkspark itself - this dream has been fulfilled by the 'Hamburger Weg' for many children. At the 'Hamburger Weg Kita-Meisterschaft 2019' on May 25, the girls and boys from 32 kindergarten teams from Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein were able to prove their tournament suitability to more than 1,500 guests.
In advance, each Kita team was allocated a country from the last FIFA World Cup, which they were to represent at the Volkspark. For a real tournament feeling, the teams created their own jerseys in the style of the respective national teams.
Cheered by their own fan clubs (dressed up in the colors of their country) and HSV dinosaur 'Hermann' and strengthened by grilled sausages and cakes, the kids showed on four small fields the big ones how to do it.
Although fun was the order of the day, a winner was also selected at this tournament: Team Mexico won the final 1-0 to celebrate their first championship in the Volksparkstadion.
The Kita championship was organized by the HSV foundation together with the DRK-Kita-Luhdorf. Voluntary donations for the delivery of food and drinks yielded € 3,331.51, which were handed over to the DRK-Kita-Luhdorf.
