REYHER donates screws to Hamburg Fire Service for its breathing apparatus emergency course

Full-time and volunteer firefighters train regularly and prepare themselves both mentally and physically for various scenarios to make sure that every move is the right move in an emergency. To create realistic training conditions, the team ‘TFA – Toughest Firefighter Alive’ from the corporate sports club of Hamburg Fire Service is building a breathing apparatus emergency course – with screws from REYHER.

Committed to Hamburg
As a traditional Hamburg company founded in 1887, REYHER has close ties to the city, and the company and its employees are regularly involved in social projects in Hamburg. Accordingly, Dr Peter Bielert and Klaus-Dieter Schmidt (Managing Directors of REYHER) are pleased to be able to support the TFA Team with a donation in kind: ‘Of course, we all hope that we will never need the services of the fire brigade, but it is very good to know that we can rely on the team if the worst comes to the worst. It gives us particular pleasure if we can now make a small contribution to the team’s training activities with our screws and help to improve safety in this field!’

Training for emergencies with a sporting spirit
The TFA Team Hamburg competes nationally and internationally, regularly demonstrating its team spirit, perseverance and a willingness to push itself to the limits – qualities that are also hugely important in emergencies. There is also a special focus on training for breathing apparatus emergencies, where the emphasis is on rescuing the emergency services involved in an acute fire – a highly challenging situation from both a physical and mental perspective. Regular training plays a major role when it comes to mastering these challenges in a controlled manner. With the help of volunteers who are giving up a great deal of their personal time, Hamburg Fire Service is building realistic training courses for this purpose and is also making them available to other groups.

MaReC: Mayday Rescue Challenge Germany
The TFA Team Hamburg is organising the Mayday Rescue Challenge Germany at the INTERSCHUTZ 2026 trade fair, offering up to 90 fire crews the opportunity to train for emergencies on three different courses – all scientifically monitored and evaluated by Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW). This will make it possible to gain important insights with practical relevance, while the tactical advice for firefighters will make operations safer. Once the trade fair has ended, the courses will continue to be used for training purposes in the field of breathing apparatus emergency rescue – also thanks to the high quality of our fasteners.
