With GLS KlimaProtect, GLS Germany launched a unique ecology program in 2019 to protect the environment. The program includes a wide variety of activities to offset, reduce and avoid CO2 emissions - always with the major goal of achieving 100 percent climate-neutral parcel shipping.
REYHER also supports these activities by actively participating in the GLS KlimaProtect program. In the period from January 2020 to December 2020, we were able to make our parcel shipping climate neutral.
As part of the program, the emissions caused by parcel transport are offset by investing in an externally certified forest protection and reforestation project via Primaklima e.V.. The non-profit organization protects existing forests and plants new trees worldwide for climate protection. The focus is always on involving the local population. Currently, GLS supports a project in Indonesia certified according to the VCS/CCB standard for the protection of peat swamp forests.
